1. General rules
1.1 In muay thai fights knee strikes are mandatory to fighter's body
1.2 Elbow strikes to head are allowed
1.3 Knee strikes to body are allowed
1.4 Knee strikes to head are allowed in professional fights only
1.5 IKAS promoters and officials have right to decide whether to include elbow and knee strikes to head or not before a fight
1.6 All strikes are allowed to body, legs and head
1.7 Kicks to both inside and outside of fighter's leg and shin are allowed
1.8 Strikes to groin, knee and the back of the head are not allowed
1.9 Clinching is allowed as long as one of the fighters is performing a technical movement
1.10 Sweeps and holdings of a fighter's leg are allowed
1.11 Mini-throws are allowed. Wrestling throws are not allowed
1.12 Strikes while holding a fighter's leg are allowed. If a fighter whose leg has been held starts coming backwards or jumping, then the fighter who is holding the leg must immediately stop his attack

2. Clothing requirements
A fighter must have kickboxing shorts that must cover half of his leg. KICKBOXING TROUSERS ARE NOT ALLOWED. If a fighter ignores the rule and appears in kickboxing trousers, a referee must give him 5 minutes to find kickboxing shorts and issue him an official warning. If after 5 minutes of time a fighter still does not have kickboxing shorts he will be disqualified and thus will not participate in IKAS sanctioned fight.

3. Safety equipment
All safety equipment must be IKAS approved:
- Mouth piece
- Shin protection
- Groin protection
- Hand wraps
- 8 ounce 10 ounce fighting gloves

4. Fight length
- European, Intercontinental and World fights have 5 rounds, 3 minutes each and 1 minute rest
- National fights have 5 rounds, 3 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
- Regional fights have 5 rounds, 3 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
- Rating fights have 3-5 rounds, 3 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
