1. General rules
1.1 Strikes are allowed to body and to both inside and outside of fighter's legs
1.2 Foot to foot sweeps are allowed to both inside and outside of opponent's foot
1.3 Strikes to both inside and outside of fighter's shin, knee, groin, spine and to the back of the head are not allowed
1.4 A fighter must do a minimum 8 kicks per round
1.5 When a fighter does not fulfil a minimum required number of kicks per round he will be deducted 1 point for that round. This rule remains active in all rounds
1.6 Each strike must be accented and powerful to be counted as a strike
2. Clothing requirements
A fighter must have kickboxing shorts just above his knee in length. KICKBOXING TROUSERS ARE NOT ALLOWED. If a fighter ignores the rule and appears in kickboxing trousers, a referee must give him 5 minutes to find kickboxing shorts and issue him an official warning. If after 5 minutes of time a fighter still does not have kickboxing shorts he will be disqualified and thus will not participate in IKAS sanctioned fight.
3. Safety equipment
All safety equipment must be IKAS approved:
- Foots that should entirely cover fighter's leg
- Shin protection
- Mouthpiece
- Groin protection
- Hand wraps
- 8 or 10 ounce fighting gloves
4. Fight length
- European, Intercontinental and World fights have 12 rounds, 2 minutes each and 1 minute rest
- National fights have 10 rounds, 2 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
- Regional fights have 8 rounds, 2 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
- Rating fights have 5-10 rounds, 2 minutes each and 1 minute for rest
