February 18th, 2006 is now scheduled for another grand IKAS event chosen to happen in the Russian Federation. If you keep yourself updated with the IKAS news, you might know that this World title fight was postponed two times for different reasons. It was first canceled due to an injury that Nikolay Yamolkin got in one of his training sessions. This was supported by a medical certificate sent in the IKAS head office by his coaches. The second reason why this title bout took no place was a failure to attain proper visas for the Dutch individuals to show up in time. Now that all formalities are followed and there seems to be nothing to interfere with the fight, all is needed is to get the visas and train in a secure fashion to be unharmed when it is the time for both contenders to appear in the ring and fight an exciting hard bout.
As it was said earlier, this fight is of great interest because it will feature two tough fighters representing two strongest kickboxing schools of Russia and Holland. This event is supposed to be a thrilling one as again it is put up by IKAS vice-president Oleg Deryabin.
Note that Nikolay Yamolkin holds the IKAS Pro European title, and now he is full of desire to add up the World title to his current listing. His opponent Melvin Rozenblad is Holland's national pro champion who would more than likely do his best to chalk up another win and take the IKAS world golden belt home.
Now the parties are reviewing agreements and discussing terms to ensure the Dutch associates will then arrange a rematch. And they did confirm that they would put it up irrespective of the outcome of this world title fight. IKAS HQ is yet up to consideration on who is going to supervise and judge this show.
More details are coming soon. Check back later.
10/10/05 IKAS Portugal event
Finally we received the report describing the event in Portugal. Mr. Jose Fortes put up first IKAS European title bout with Nuno Cardoso from the Portuguese Abelo Jesus Team and Giaccari Pierullgi representing the Italian Ecole de Combat. In addition, Mr. Fortes and the team arranged a national title fight. The detailed information is provided just now due to good reasons, and we apologize to all kickboxing fans.
The first national title bout made a real splash in the hall. Back to the European title fight in the featherweight 56.4 kg - 58.1 kg class put up by IKAS Russia vice-president Mr. Oleg Deryabin, the event featured Eres Serygla of Russia and Bruno Clemento of Portugal. Eres knocked out Bruno in round 6 with a devastating right kick when Bruno failed to stand up at referee’s count of 10. It was an overwhelming win by the Russian fighter. Experts and Bruno’s coach alleged at the after match press conference that Bruno would hardly get back to the professional fighting, let alone elite fighting. What we see half a year later is Bruno coming back to win the Portuguese national title fight in the low kicks division. He regained his status knocking out his opponent Sérgio Baptista from the Escola de Muay-Thai Z Fortes perfectly well. We congratulate Bruno on this thrilling experience and say ‘Welcome back!’ Bruno’s coach made a guess, ‘Should Bruno defend this title in two months, he will certainly resume conquering the top of European titles’. Why not, the trophy is the belt covered with gold which is the dream of any ambitious fighter.
The turning-point of the night was the European title fight in the light middleweight 69.6 -72.2 kg class with Nuno Cardoso (Portugal) and Giaccari Pierullgi (Italy). The hall was full of fans anticipating this struggle. Many made stakes on victory and most experts were voting 80 per cent for the Portuguese sportsman. Note that both fighters were equally strong but as usual the victory goes over to the host fighter. The ring referee assigned was Jose Rodrigues with his short comments, ‘As I entered the ring, I realized it would be a battle of two gladiators and would continue to the last round. The spirit of fighting was heating in the air. And I was right. The bout started up all too fast with no scouting as both fighters were landing crucial punches and kicks on each other. It was true of the first, second, third and the fourth rounds. Only in the round 5, there was a short breath that was good to Giaccari Pierullgi. The 6th rounds began for Giaccari to cross the t’s. The guests realized that that golden belt would more than likely be taken to Italy’
It was another testimony that IKAS has professional and impartial judges. Mr. Jose Fortes noted that the show was of the high level. Besides, the Italians confirmed they would put up a rematch to defend this title at home.
One of Mr. Fortes’ plans is to return the European belt held by Eres Serygla. The talks have now begun with the Russian affiliate and the rematch contracts are now being drawn up and will soon be signed by the parties involved.
25/09/05 IKAS RUSSIA Kaliningrad event
Last Sunday of September 25th , it was the time of IKAS Vice-President Yuri Belousov to prove his promotion skills and experience to arrange his first IKAS World and CIS title fights in Kaliningrad, Russia. More IKAS officials – IKAS President Oleg Vadatursky and IKAS Vice-President Oleg Deryabin came over to supervise these bouts which were supposed to be a thrilling and spectacular show. And it was! A big sport complex with the total capacity of 3,000 guests was chosen as the venue for these title fights of gladiators full of indomitable courage and endeavors to win the IKAS golden belt. The first fight on the card was a Light Middleweight CIS title bout under Muay-thai rules with Sergey Makagonov of Russia fighting Marius Urbonas of Latvia managed by Donatas Simotaitis. Sergey Makagonov trains under the tutelage of Gertet and has a fighting record of 14 pro fights, 10 KOs , 3 losses. The first round began with both fighters landing a steady stream of blows on each other. In the end of the round 1, Sergey Makagonov hit Marius Urbonas severely and cut his eyebrow. The audience went silent as a physician was rendering a medical care to Marius, and in a moment fighting resumed. The second round was more dynamic than the first one and both fighters exchanged heavy kicks and fought first last and all the time. Later this round, Sergey landed a spinning elbow blow resulting in an injury on Marius' ear that was bleeding heavily. Marius' corner man threw a towel out in the ring, and Sergey Makagonov chalked up one more win and became the IKAS PRO Light Middleweight CIS Champion and was given a warm applause by the guests.
The main event of the night featured Yuri Boreyko of Latvia and Maxim Grechkin of Russia who came out in the ring to struggle for the IKAS PRO Light Middleweight World title. In his 25 Yuri has a professional fighting record of 97 fights, 13 losses, 3 draws. Being trained by Dobolinsh Roman he won 20 of these fights by KO. His opponent Maxim Grechkin has a more modest record with 8 professional fights (5 by KO) and 2 losses. Young and ferocious Maxim was expected to rip and tear, and he did in the middle of the round 1. The fighters started slowly and tentatively seeking soft spots on each other. As the crowd cheered them up with loud whistles and cries, the sportsmen applied a more active fighting style with Yuri knocked down for a moment. Round 2 was a tough fighting as Maxim Grechkin strived to show what he was made of and why he was there in the ring. Maxim began to attack heavily landing a steam of punches that kept dazed Yuri Bereyko pinned to the ropes. Shortly thereafter he hit Yuri with his right elbow which decided the outcome of the bout. It was the second awesome TKO in one night. Now that Maxim Grechkin holds the IKAS World Title, he will have an opportunity to fight in the Diamond Belt tournament that will be filmed in Moscow in January 2006.
Rematches are going to happen as early as this fall, and we hope they will be as tough and overwhelming as they were this time.
10/08/05 Petential return match in September 2005
The IKAS leadership is worried about the situation around return fights. With this well aware of, there is a range of talks with IKAS representatives in Holland and in Portugal. IKAS active champions that won this title in 2004 have not been provided with rematches by objective reasons. On this end IKAS managers contacted our associates in Portugal and set out negotiations and make the rematch available to active European champion Eres Sarygla in full contact featherweight class. The Portuguese affiliate intends to do so in September. However, there is a little problem to talk up to mutual terms. The Russian party, with Mr. Deryabin as the leader, do not agree with the terms proposed by the Portuguese affiliate. IKAS leaders will make efforts for this fight to happen. All hitches on the way should be eliminated through negotiations. This situation is under control of the IKAS management and in the near future we will more than likely have positive results.
Should the event happen, the Russian party will have to guarantee another rematch in future irrespective of the fight outcome. All individuals involved do understand that failed return fights may have a bad impact on the sport we have been so devoted to. All of this though is just a consequence of disorders with promoters.
Now that IKAS gathered a professional team work environment, one instance is Mr. Fortes attempting to put up this event in September, things will get better.
There is one more return bout waiting to feature Rustam Parmanov in the welterweight class. The problem is that his managers do not reply to any of our e-mails to confirm the challenge thrown by the Dutch party. We cannot comment on this situation as many messages were left without response. What we have to deal with here is a dislike to defend the title held by Rustam Parmanov. We will try to discuss it with IKAS official representative in Kazakhstan Mr. Asylkhan Busurmanov and find out the real ground. After this we will make a final decision. We hope that Mr. Busurmanov will do his best to continue with our intentions. We also set hopes for Mr. Deryabin to do best accomplishments.
For your notice, normally negotiations should begin 3 months prior to the event to discuss every single point and sign legal papers. These rules are to be abided by everyone to avoid unpleasant incidents. With this in mind, we will take measures to control organization of fights and review rules to invite fighters to fight. Official contracts will contain a separate article: guarantees to arrange rematches. If no guarantee is given, fighter will not be invited regardless of the rankings.
19/08/05 IKAS event
August 19th was the day of a professional CIS title fight that took place in Russia, Chelyabinsk. This event was licensed by the International Kickboxing Association IKAS . The organizer for this show was IKAS vice-president Mr. Oleg Deryabin . This fight featured two kickboxing schools of Russia and Kazakhstan . The weight class for this fight was 62.2-64.5 kg. On the Russian side, there was Mikhail Letiyagin who is the professional champion of Russia and has defended this title twice. Moreover, Mikhail is ranked #1 in the NLK of Russia . His opponent was Abdukhalim Bakhtiev of Kazakhstan who is the professional champion of Kazakhstan and amateur European champion, and he even won the amateur World Cup. The amateur rankings of this sportsman are great and his fighting skills and experience are seen with a naked eye. On the 18th of August, Mr. Deryabin conducted a press-conference and an official weigh-in. Mr. Deryabin alleged the press that in case Mikhail Letiyagin won this fight, he would be able to defend it in October of 2005 in the biggest tournament put up by Mr. Deryabin . This event will feature a professional World title fight at 72.2 kg. That time Mikhail will have to defend his title fighting Tadas Jonkus of Latvia . In a friendly atmosphere felt in the press center, journalists paid a great attention to the high level and the fashion it was organized. The show began at 8 pm. There were two warm-up bouts prior to the main fight which was of high quality. As the show started up, the audience plunged into atmosphere of a tremendous experience. The time flashed by as all fighters demonstrated an excellent fighting technique. Experts alleged new kickboxing stars appear in Russia . The main fight of the night began with TWO fighters, TWO characters, and TWO champions in a 6x6 ring where there is only ONE place for ONE winner with only ONE belt of the CIS champion. First seven rounds were equal tough fighting but the end of each round was at the side of Mikhail Letiyagin as if the host venue and responsibly he took fighting at home encouraged him. In the end of round 7, Mikhail landed a devastating left kick in the liver of his opponent. Abdukhalim Bakhtiev fell down and the referee started counting. At the referee's count of 8, the gong sounded and saved Abdukhalim . Eventually, Mikhail Letiyagin of Russia won a unanimous decision. Abdukhalim failed to recover after the knockdown in round 7 so the last three rounds went under the direction of the Russian fighter. Now we have a new CIS CHAMPION - Mikhail Letiyagin !!! As mentioned above, Mikhail will defend his title fighting Tadas Jonkus of Latvia . Who knows, maybe he will be luckier to move Mikhail off the CIS champion's throne.
30/07/05 IKAS to carry on with rematches
IKAS associate Orlando Gemerts (left) of Amsterdam, Holland in partnership with a well established promotional group based in the Netherlands, the Home of many prominent martial artists competing in all fighting styles from full contact kickboxing to K-1 tough bouts. Mr. Gemerts has worked hard to promote this kind of sport activity in this country and still very busy arranging an eye popping tournament in his homeland. The organizers have several stiff bouts to put on this fighting card scheduled for September, 2005. Should the preparation complete earlier, the show will come about in August. One of the battles will feature a return match with Rustam Parmanov of Kostanai, Kazakhstan vs. Clyde Petres of Amsterdam, Holland. They last fought 15th October 2004 on the event promoted by IKAS official representative in Kazakhstan Mr. Asylkhan Busurmanov. Just to remind you, the fight ended up with Rustam the winner. It was the talk of the town as Rustam scored just one point more than his opponent did to conquer the IKAS European title in welterweight class. Rustam, the active IKAS Muay-Thai European Champion, will have to prove that he has the guts to show up and defend his title. Clyde trains in Amsterdam VosGym along with many renowned fighters such as Ernesto Hoost and Jerrel Venetian, and is convinced to pull himself together and leave the belt at home. IKAS lawyers are now drafting agreements to be signed by both the host side and the Kazakhstan affiliate to avoid precedents. Please feel free to contact IKAS head office for further information info@ikaskickboxing.com

World Rankings
In this interview, we touched upon the question of rankings to explain how serious this problem is in the world of kickboxing. Darrick Woods interviewed IKAS President Oleg Vadatursky and IKAS Vice-president Enrique Roman-Calvo.
Darrick: Mr. Vadatursky, why do you think IKAS has no wide rankings?
Mr. Vadatursky: I wouldn’t say so! IKAS does have it but we don’t really feel like publishing it in full at IKAS official website. I will try to explain why. You may open a website of any renowned world federation, and you will see rankings that aren’t trustworthy and real. Many variants are possible here. A fighter has long since retired but still in the rankings. Or many martial arts federations take results from amateur championships, take 5 winners from the list and put them on rankings which aren’t true. And the rankings consist of 2 or 3 countries, namely representatives and fighters of these countries. More importantly, leaders and presidents of world federations do not keep in touch and do not conduct a certain policy to unite and put all rankings together. There is no proper connection between federations which reflects on the world rankings. That is why the International Kickboxing Association attempts to compile real kickboxing rankings. I mean we need to promote sportsmen. Make their latest results available to the whole world. We keep talks for promoters not to lower the level of beginner fighters and tell them that such actions are just a step back in the quality and the process of making kickboxing most popular. As you noticed, we only put real champions on our website or first five but only if we saw them in action. I think promoters should help us do it and discuss it at all kickboxing events, seminars and workshops.
Darrick: Mr. Enrique, a question to you: “What’s your point of view on this issue?”
Mr. Enrique: First of all, I would like all our representatives and promoters to compile their own national rankings of strongest fighters. Then we will get the right and genuine picture of the state of kickboxing in every country we are currently signed with. All promoters should provide at least once in three months changes in their national rankings. It would be perfect if representatives in every country arrange as many pro national title fights as possible, not amateur events but professional title bouts.
Generally speaking about the situation in the world, most professional national kick or thai-boxers having won this title once, try to conquer a European or a World title ignoring defence of national titles. The class of such fighters does not comply with the world class as they do maximum five fights. With five professional fights they attempt to win world titles. It’s unacceptable!!! Note that world rankings are made of not only fights results but also video tapes from the show which IKAS didn’t have a chance to see, mass media info in any country, etc. Newspaper articles help understand how good this or that tournament was and how many people it did attract. The mass media is an independent tool to compile rankings as they have unbiased thinking. If a fight was bad, they would write so. I agree with what IKAS President said, and I wish promoters not only worked to raise money but promote kickboxing as a sport #1.
IKAS announcement
Back to March 2005, the World title fight scheduled to take place in Russia and feature a tremendous battle of kickboxers, was postponed due to Nikolai Yamolkin's injury.
The preliminary date is 14th August 2005. The Russian party alleged this World title bout would happen at all costs. Last Friday IKAS President Oleg Vadatursky had a telephone conversation with IKAS Vice-President and organizer of the show, Mr. Deryabin supported the fact that Nokolai Yamolkin has now recovered. Nokolai is getting ready for the fight fervently. IKAS leadership maintains negotiations with the Dutch party as leading fighters in the Netherlands have contracts with the national super league. We all hope that things will go well and the long expected title bout will exhilarate the crowd this hot summer. If you remember the past interviews, you know that Ernestoo Hoost is expected to visit this show.

Interview with IKAS World title challenger Nikolai Yamolkin
- DARRICK : As a true warrior you probably have only burning intention in mind – ‘Bust Your Rival', don't you?
- NIKOLAI : I am not going to tear someone in pieces but I would like to strike your attention to the fact that my wish is to win this fight, that's it!
- What titles do you currently hold?
– I am IKAS European champion.
- What is your fighting record?
- As a professional fighter, I had 12 fights whereof there were two fights lost, one fight won by points, two fights were draw, the rest I won by knockout.
- How much time do you spend getting ready for this fighting bout?
– Training time is determined by my coach.
- In what way are you going to win the day – by KO or you will fight to the last round?
– I am tuned to win beautifully.
- Have you ever seen your opponent in action or maybe you heard something about him?
– I don't care at all, we'll see in the ring.
- Do you know that the champion's trophy is a unique belt covered with gold?
– That's great, to have the golden belt, but the World champion title is much more important to me.
- The show will be filmed and then shown to the whole world. What do you think about it?
– The more great kickboxing on TV the higher kickboxing popularity level all over the world.
- Whatever the fight outcome, are you ready for the rematch in the near future?
– Talking about return match, may be the Dutch sports school takes weak faith in its sportsman? Personally I am always ready to any turn of events.
- What is your final say to kickboxing fans?
- As early as 18th century the Dutch navigators and engineers studied our emperor, Peter the Great, to build ships. Nowadays, in 21st century, it's me, Nikolay Yamolkin, who wants to show the Holland real kickboxing.
Interview with Randall Halden
Darrick Woods interviewed one of the challengers for the World title fight Randall Halden. We thank Randall for finding the time and answering the questions.
- Darrick : As a true warrior you probably have only one burning intention in mind – ‘Bust Your Rival', don't you?

- What titles do currently hold?
- I don't have any titles yet, but this will be my first.
- What is your fighting record?
- My record is 14 matches: win 12 draw 1 and lost 1. I lost one time in my career and I don't want to get that feeling again that I had the last time I lost my fight.
- How much time do you spend getting ready for this fighting bout?
- At least 4 times a week I'm in the gym and besides that I'm working on mine condition by running one time a week.
- In what way are you going to win the day – by KO or you will fight to the last round?
- I'm a fighter and I will come to fight. I will only think about more rounds, but a KO is watching over my shoulders. Watch out!
- Have you ever seen your opponent in action or maybe you heard something about him?
- I don't know my opponent or saw him in action. I heard he is a good fighter with a lot of experience and never lost a fight. We will see.
- Do you know that the champion's trophy is a unique belt covered with gold?
- I didn't know that, but when I win the belt I can adore and play with it all the time.
- The show will be filmed and then shown to the whole world. What do you think about it?
- That is a good thing, because then everybody can taste a little bit of kickboxing and see a nice fight.
- Whatever the fight outcome, are you ready for the rematch in the near future?
- Of course, that is a must.
- What is your final say to kickboxing fans?
- I hope to see you all soon and then you can see me in action. It will be a nice fight and may the best sportsman win. Ush!
IKAS Russia event announcement
The International Kickboxing Association IKAS licensed another great event – World title fight at 72.2 kg. IKAS President and Financial Director Mr. Oliver Campbell are to be there and witness the battle. The event is being promoted by IKAS official representative in Russia and Vice-President Mr. Oleg Deryabin, two-time Champion of the World. Active European champion Nikolai Yamolkin defends his title and throws a challenge to Randall Halden from Holland who is number 2 in the IKAS world rankings. This fighting bout will certainly make a splash. No doubt it excites a great interest of kickboxing fans around the world. It is the matter of fact that Holland takes a firm stand and a leading position in the world of martial arts. Please note that the fighter that tossed his hat in the ring is a disciple of not only the Dutch kickboxing school but legendary multi-time champion Ivan Hyppolite and Ernesto Hoost (I.K.B.F. World Light Heavy Weight Champion; I.S.K.A. World Lightheavyweight Champion; K-2 GRAND PRIX '93 Champion; K-1 WORLD GP '97&'99 Champion; K-1 WORLD GP 2000 in Nagoya Finalist; K-1 WORLD GP 2000, 2002 Champion; K-1 WORLD GP 2001 in Melbourne Champion). This show will be of greatest interest since the Dutch school already introduced one of the strongest kickboxers last year in Kazakhstan. So the follower of the legendary well-known kickboxing school came out to struggle for the European title in the Muay-thai division. That time the Dutch sportsman yielded to the Kazakhstan kickboxer in quite an equal bout. As far as you remember the Dutch party was all ready to prove that it was a matter of fortuity, and in their opinion the return match scheduled in the year of 2005 is supposed to make conclusive evidence that the Dutch school is invincible and unconquerable. Martial arts fans are looking forward to this brawl in the Russian Federation as the experts suggest two crucial outcomes of this event. In case the Russian fighter wins the bout, he will for ever destroy the myth of the invincibility of the opponent and the chief contender. Otherwise, it will just strengthen and reinforce the reputation of kickboxers raised in Holland. Upon unflinching determination of the Dutch fighter, the Russian guy is not supposed to simply stroll back and forth in the ring. People long for an affecting spectacle and an awful fighting sight as the prize is somewhat precious – unique belt covered with gold. Note that there is only one federation in the world, namely International Kickboxing Association IKAS that grants valuable champions’ trophies. This title fight is expected to be a super show as both fighters crave for entering the throne, conquer the belt and try it on.
Furthermore, Ernesto Hoost a.k.a. “Mr. Perfect” will come to this overwhelming show. Hence there will be no chance to unfair and dishonest judging. Actually it should not have been mentioned since IKAS has fairest, most honest-minded and professional judges. The training headquarters of Randall Halden have given consent and confirmed that they meet the challenge of the Russians. Some technical things are yet to be sorted out. The contract is to be signed in the nearest future and visas are waiting to be granted. Television broadcast of this title fight is a prerogative of the 7TV channel. IKAS President Mr. Oleg Vadatursky ended negotiations with 7TV President Mr. Alexander Besputin on a cheerful note.
Latest K-1 results
Karate, Kickboxing, Tae kwon do and Kung fu are among the martial arts upon which K-1 is founded. Throughout the year, the world's best fighters face-off in K-1 qualifying events on five continents for the honor of competing in the K-1 World Grand Prix, held in Tokyo.
Ernesto Hoost is the one of the probably most titled fighters in the world. Here are just some of them: Jan 01, 1990 : I.K.B.F. World Light Heavy Weight Champion; Jan 01, 1990 : I.S.K.A. World Lightheavyweight Champion; Dec 01, 1993 : K-2 GRAND PRIX '93 Champion; Dec 01, 1997 : K-1 WORLD GP '97&'99 Champion; Aug 01, 2000 : K-1 WORLD GP 2000 in Nagoya Finalist; Dec 01, 2000 : K-1 WORLD GP 2000, 2002 Champion; Jun 01, 2001 : K-1 WORLD GP 2001 in Melbourne Champion.
Ernesto first won the championship in 1993. In the year of 1997, with over 45,000 tickets sold out in less than an hour, Ernesto Hoost defeats Andy Hug by decision to capture the crown at the Tokyo Dome Grand Prix. In the 21st Century, Ernesto Hoost repeats as Champion in 2000. Again, in 2002, Ernesto Hoost wins to become the only four-time Champion.
As we all know the latest K-1 results, officially the winner of the championship is Remy Bonjasky. There are many opinions of this point. However they do vary. Here is the testimony of beholder and Ernesto Hoost’s trainer Orlando Gemerts.
“The K1 was won by Remy. In the final Remy beat Musashi in 5 rounds. They wouldn't let Remy win so they had to fight 2 extra rounds, in the end they had to pronounce Remy as the winner. It was absurd. Ernesto was the true champ and the K1 was a big farce. The Japanese wanted Musashi to win the K1 so they let Musashi win every fight except for the final against
Remy. Many fighters were robbed from their victory. Here in Holland even the newspapers wrote that is was scandalous. Remy also lost the fight against Botha but they gave Remy the victory”
We back up the opinion of our partner Orlando. Ernesto is the only true champion mobbed by fans wherever he appears! For some unknown reasons, the official K-1 judges think otherwise. Obviously such is K-1 policy. Many people, not in Holland but worldwide consider Ernesto the Supreme Fighter. To the whole world he is forever known as “Mr. Perfect”, and there is many a proof.
On his way back home, Ernesto was met by his fans and strongest fighters of Holland. Five fingers stand for Ernesto’s being the K-1 champion five times. The people were there at the airport to express their sincere homage and esteem to the man, the real champions not by words but by actions. The man that is a brilliant example to beginner fighters in whatever style. Ernesto Hoost was so much surprised and impressed by the people who were there that he started sweating.

IKAS President Oleg Vadatursky was long since invited by IKAS representative in Iran and the Middle East Mr. Darvishi to come and see IKAS affiliate in Iran and discuss all the burning kickboxing related issues. The basic objective of the journey was a judges’ seminar and a range of formal meetings with Iranian officials. Mr. Darvishi met the IKAS President at the airport of Tehran to continue his trip throughout Iran. The first destination was the city of Rascht known worldwide for everlasting rains. IKAS Iranian HQ members met the IKAS President. It’s the matter of fact that Mr. Oleg Vadatursky is given a warm welcome wherever he goes. So they all together went to see an IKAS championship arranged by Mr. Darvishi and his team. It was an overwhelming show, really thrilling to see. There were so many talented and skillful fighters that conducted tremendous combinations of punches and kicks. Mr. Oleg Vadatursky admitted their high class, and really the sportsmen tried their best to demonstrate magnificent fighting that goes from the bottom of their hearts. The only thing they were lacking is stamina. They all are fast starters and keep high tempo the first few rounds. However, they seem exhausted after the fourth round or so. That’s what the Iranian fighters, in Mr. Vadatursky’s opinion, have to put into practice – fighting at a high quickness in all the 12 rounds as if they fought for the World and European title. To say the least, there are some fighters that deserve to go and fight in the world arena.
The next day, the party moved to Guilan province. Mr. Vadatursky met the Iranian Sport Minister and other officials. They touched upon many questions, namely how to extend IKAS development in Iran and the Middle East, enhance the level of championships organizations, etc. The Iranian Ministry of Sport agreed to assist IKAS in the arrangement of greatest bouts and making kickboxing even more popular and spectacular both in the Middle East and worldwide.
After this official meeting, Mr. Vadatursky and Mr. Darvishi went to IKAS HQ in Iran. Other members of the IKAS Iranian affiliate were there awaiting the President. Other IKAS representatives attended the seminar: Mr. Bayyazi, IKAS official representative in UAE, Mr. Ibrahim, IKAS official representative in Egypt, which makes us believe that such seminars are of highly importance. Mr. Vadatursky guided all the judges on the IKAS rules and explained how they should act in most complicated and intricate situations. After the seminar, all the judges passed an examination rather successfully. Thus, the IKAS team recruited more qualified and experienced judges.
It was agreed that Mr. Darvishi and Mr. Bayyazi would arrange first Asian title and Middle East title fights. Best fighters will be selected from the ME. This championship is scheduled March 2005. This is another successful step made by Mr. Darvishi promoting his fighters in the world.
